3D Animation and Website for Shrapnel
Do you know that exciting feeling when you are part of something you like working on? Doesn’t matter the size, what matters is how your feel about it. We have that feeling when working for Shrapnel.
The Inspiration
For our thumbnail animation we got the inspiration from the game itself. The gameplay leaves players empty handed in a urban city surrounded by tall buildings. We took this idea and created an arena-like city, then added a top-down motion provoking a more dynamic feel.
The Motion
The craftsmanship behind the motion is what truly sets the animation apart. For this project, we used a combination of Blender and After Effects. We began with a storyboard and continued to Blender. Our goal was to make the city look authentic, so using a plugin to get a 3D model of the center of Tokyo felt like the right choice. We paid close attention to details such as neon-punk billboards on the buildings. We finished all up with a render in After Effects to add explosions in the middle of the city.
Our Contribution
Besides the design, we contributed to the project in the area of hard-skill technologies:
?? Website development
?? Design & 3D animations
?? Blockchain integration & backend communication
?? Blockchain wallet integration
?? Sharp Tokens distribution system (allowing the purchase of Tokens in a pre-sale)
?? Affiliate program functionality
About the game
Shrapnel game is believed to bridge the gap between gaming and NFTs even better. It’s a well-crafted alternative to, for example, Escape from Tarkov (2.5 million active players per month).
On top of that, it lets NFT technology shine as it's supposed to, allowing players to design custom items, mint them as NFTs, and sell them for their desired price on a market. See this cool pre-alpha review by Cody Buffinton on YouTube. If anything gets us excited, it's to be part of this project. ??
