"Everyday Life of Portals: In Search of a Home" (2024)

Let's imagine that one of the most incredible and bold concepts of modern physics may be true. An immense number of parallel worlds, an infinite number of universes that exist simultaneously. They are like a stack of semi-transparent glass: somewhere, cracks are already visible, while others flash under the beams of the morning sun. After this fantasy, let's look inside ourselves. With our consciousness and subconsciousness, we accumulate an endless number of worlds made of a broth of thoughts, of the years we've lived, of moments and memories, with absolutely unique experiences constantly accumulating in our minds like more and more glass from other universes. People, emotions, news, social media, music, movies leave their mark on our personal universe. Not so long ago, the number of such imprints was limited to our circle of communication. Now, in a world of an infinite stream of information about other universes, we cannot live in a vacuum with only our own layer. Other worlds literally slip into our own.

Millions of parallel lives are an endless glass wall. We are simply unable not to think about them. Even if we close our eyes tightly, we will feel the flickering of extinguished life, just as we can see the light of a long-dead star in the sky. After writing six canvases of the "Portals" series, I discovered the influence of Marcel Duchamp and his "Large Glass" on my personal glass. This is the best confirmation of the idea of integrating universes.The idea of portals is fragments of thoughts, parts of books read, feelings and emotions, daily experiences. On the border of worlds, past and present, personal experience of the artist and his environment. To walk on the edge of a razor between worlds, between consciousness and subconsciousness, with the aim of not finding, but observing.
